Current INITIATIVES
01
2019 California
Energy Standards
CEA supported two initiatives for the 2019 update to California's Building Energy Efficiency Standards. First, CEA worked to reframe and simplify the lighting alterations code to reflect a practical, easy-to-implement set of requirements that significantly reduce the current complexity of lighting alterations requirements contained in the 2016 Energy Standards. Second, CEA supported critical clarifications to Automated Demand Response requirements for lighting controls.
03
Energy Education
CEA is actively working to improve awareness across a range of energy topics. Our energy education programs and activities include work dedicated to code compliance, demand management, technology training, and workfoce development among others.
02
2022 California
Energy Standards
CEA is looking forward to the 2022 update to California's Building Energy Efficiency Standards. Members are already hard at work examining ways to improve requirements, compliance and energy savings.
As part of this important work, CEA is seeking subject matter experts to help inform its activities. To learn how to become involved, please send us an email at inquiries@caenergyalliance.org.04
HVAC Industry Modernization
Improving HVAC performance through proper installation, continous system monitoring and increased industry compliance with building and energy codes is of paramount importance if California is to meet its energy and carbon reduction goals. CEA is leading key initiatives and programs to modernize the HVAC industry and enable cost-effective solutions able to achieve California's goals today.
