California’s Compromised Code Compliance

The compliance path is compromised. When it comes to energy codes and standards, requirements that ensure energy savings are inconsistently enforced making maximized energy savings and affordability challenging for Californians.

Since 2016, CEA Member-Partners of the CEA have led a statewide effort to bridge the gap between code requirements and real-world practice. By aligning policy with application, CEA’s goal is to maximize energy savings and increase affordability for California’s diverse communities.
