California Energy Design Assistance Program (CEDA)

The California Energy Design Assistance (CEDA) program promotes the electrification and decarbonization of new building construction or major renovation. CEDA works in collaboration with project teams to reduce energy demand, consumption, and carbon emissions.

CEDA serves commercial, public, high-rise multifamily, industrial, and agricultural projects in Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), Southern California Edison (SCE), SoCalGas (SCG), and San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) service areas.

Why participate in CEDA?

  • Receive complimentary custom decarbonization analysis to identify and evaluate opportunities

  • Gain analysis of energy costs and paybacks

  • Receive financial incentives to help offset the costs of decarbonization measures for qualified projects

  • Demonstrate commitment to high performance building practices and design

Design Guidance for Education Facilities: Prioritization for Advanced Indoor Air Quality

The scope and intent of this document is to provide guidance to Owners, Operators, Designers, and Professional Service Providers on how to best implement Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) improvements, including risk mitigation strategies, in educational facilities. The guidelines will also help facilitate discussion between designers and stakeholders, identify minimum recommendations and discuss further considerations to improve IAQ and reduce the risk of transmission of infectious pathogens and other contaminants of concern.

This document was developed by ASHRAE Technical Committee 9.7, Educational Facilities and has been approved by ASHRAE as a free download.”

New Buildings Institute & Building Decarbonization Coalition publish "Building Electrification Technology Roadmap" (BETR)

The Building Electrification Technology Roadmap (BETR) is a first-of-its-kind study focused on accelerating adoption of highly efficient electric technologies that displace fossil fuel technologies. The study takes a comprehensive look at electrification technology options across various residential and commercial building types. The authors characterize more than three dozen technologies on technology readiness, product availability, ease of application, market awareness, and their ability to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The study highlights major roadblocks facing these technologies and provides recommendations on how to accelerate market adoption.
